हाम्रो विद्यालयमा यहाँहरूलाई हार्दिक स्वागत छ।
Rigedbedh Khanal and Sujan Shrestha, two talented students from Shree Janak Secondary School in Kavre, Nepal, recently made headlines by winning a bronze award at the Asia-Pacific Conference for Young Scientists (APCYS) 2024 in Malaysia. Their project, titled "Ajola Farming," not only highlights their innovative spirit but also underscores the importance of sustainable agricultural practices in today’s world.
Nestled in the picturesque hills of Kavre, Shree Janak Secondary School is known for nurturing young minds and encouraging them to explore scientific ideas that can lead to positive change. Rigedbedh and Sujan, both passionate about agriculture and environmental sustainability, were inspired by the challenges faced by local farmers in Nepal. With the growing concern over food security and climate change, they sought to find solutions that could enhance agricultural productivity while being mindful of ecological balance.
The concept of "Ajola Farming" emerged from their desire to promote sustainable practices that could be easily adopted by farmers in their community. Ajola, or purslane, is a nutrient-rich plant known for its resilience and adaptability. By integrating this hardy crop into traditional farming methods, Rigedbedh and Sujan aimed to not only improve soil health but also provide an additional source of nutrition for local families. Their project explored innovative techniques for cultivating Ajola alongside other crops, demonstrating the potential for increased yields and reduced environmental impact.
